Second Live Writer Post

So far the interface of Live Writer seems very intuitive.   It is easy to save drafts, and browse past posts to make edits.   I was afraid editing an old post would result in a duplicate post, but it is apparently sophisticated enough to keep track of.

I don’t understand why I can cut text out of the blogger’s web entry, but I can’t paste it?   It just seems like it was made for quick posts and not real layout and writing.

The publishing process is very fluid as well.   Click publish, brief wait, and then the site opens.    The latter is a nice touch, because it never hurts to look at what you just changed.

Other than Live Writer, Word, and possibly MS Publisher is another tool at my disposal.   However, I doubt they are blog-aware.

The other requirement that I have is that the publishing tool must interface with whatever blog engine we set up locally.   Seeing as Live Writer is extremely simple so far, the Live Writer may dictate the choice of blog engine!

Live Writer Post

Testing out Windows Live Writer.   I’ve heard it is a good tool, and the experiences with web-based entry forms leave something to be desired (like Wordpress…)

[Edit will nevermind… publishing the picture caused the upload process to throw a Forbidden error 403]

Like image insertion for example.  The above image took about 2 seconds to insert & learn.  On the web, you have to upload the file, select the correct file name….

Looks like this guy found a workaround for the image upload error:

and the result:
